We are based in the hart of Europe (Amsterdam area) and are focussed on efficient and speedy advice generation. This we can do by 30+ years of experience that we bring in the above topics.

Why is there a need for companies like Dracy one could wonder. The materials world has already build and consolidated over the past 100 years or so and it will keep do that, however in reality one sees less and less true developments are taking place in these big material companies. Most are busy consolidating business, optimizing manufacturing and lowering cost to serve. As cutting in R&D is often seen as a way to lower the cost sort term, also new developments are not really happening anymore. The drive for low manufacturing cost also dictates that smaller volumes of new products are rarely coming through. Dracy is changing that part. Materials selection

With a background in organic and polymer chemistry combined with 25 years of application development experience, we are perfectly equipped to support you with any plastic material issue you have, whether you look for greener solutions or have performance issues with you parts, we can help.

Understanding materials and their production processes deeply, we can als support with efforts like LCA or carbon footprint reduction.  We started already in 1999 with the first halogen replacements (for Nokia) and started in 2005 with solution for wire and cable that were implemented across the board by one of the largest OEM. In 2011 we started to work closely with some tiers on printed electronics, leading to a much more friendly process to create electric tracing (vs commonly used electro plating). From 2017 we worked on reduction of carbon footprint to create better products that are well suited for multiple cycles of recycling.

Interim management service

As experience business leader in all regions, we have build teams focussed on R&D, technology development and business development.  This experience is helpful to run and optimize departments in larger corporations and MBK for shorter or longer periods. Mostly these projects are connected to a re-focus of the business before of after re-structuring or obtaing additional funding. Product Development

Product development typically start with understanding the unmet needs there are for certain area of an application. Typically it is done because the technology is changed and the material in use is historically preferred. At Dracy we are highly skilled to develop new products in a short timeframe based on skills and the use of ML if needed. Our development process is crisp. We start with the application and understand what it has to do and whats additionally needed vs the incumbant solution. Once thats clear we look into the polymer possibilities as in ost cases a base polymer is already available in the market place. If there is, we will develop the recipe and support recipe development and compounding. If there is IP developed by us,  we will share that with you as our customer.  If a new polymer is needed we will also use the biology ready product databases so your solution has less impact on the planet. A win/win.

Are there materials that you are specialized in?

Although we have a very long history in many Engineering plastics, the main focus has been on Nylons and (Co)-Polyesters

How large of projects can you handle?

In general we can handle any project thats less than 6 months full time with proper planning. Smaller projects can be more easily put into place. Working on your site is also one of the possibilities.

Can you support programs across the globe?

Yes, we work closely together with own resources in the US, Japan, Korean, Taiwan and China to be best equipped to deal with your issues in the global market place.

Are you able to develop products for us?

In principle we can help you develop products, however we will not accept violation of other companies IP. This may mean the success rate of your development may be lower that you would like.

Can you support in design and material choice?

Yes we have over 20 years experience in part design linked to material choice. Also failure analysis is a part of that expertise.
